What Are The Massage Therapist Qualifications?

Everyone loves to receive a spa these days and that’s probably why the field of massage therapy is growing by leaps and bounds. So what are the massage therapist qualifications and what does it actually take to become a massage therapist? Well first of all, let it be said that all states have different requirements. But, in most states, you must be a high school graduate or have your GED. Secondly, you must attend an accredited set of courses that will teach you the basics of massage therapy. After you’ve completed a course of approximately 500 hours, you will be eligible to take a final examination and obtain a licence. In some states, continuing educational classes are required of therapists to keep their licence.

So what type of person becomes a massage therapist? In other words, what are the personality massage therapist qualifications one should have in this field? For the most part, a massage therapist should have an empathetic and friendly personality. Not only will this help build up trust with your clients but will help build up a returning base of clients. They should be intelligent and a self-starter as many massage therapists end up opening their own business.
